Ashfall Legion
Ashfall Legion is the kind of RPG that respects your time without dumbing anything down. Battles are turn-based, but the twist is that your party members literally rearrange each other's abilities depending on where you slot them. Put the fire mage next to the shield-bearer and both get new options. It turns team-building into a puzzle you keep tinkering with.
The story is decent but honestly the systems carried us. Fights start easy and then start punishing lazy setups, which forced us to actually read what each unit does. Progression feels earned — we rarely felt like the game handed us power for free.
On a phone it plays well, with big clear buttons and menus that don't bury important info. The only knock is that late-game grinding can drag if you skip side content. Do the side quests and the pacing stays tight.
